SCORE: Counselors to America's Small Business

SCORE provides free counseling for businesses. Counselors to America's Small Business, the SCORE Association (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. Our SCORE counselors, Gene Page and Malik Naeem, are available for one on one business counseling.

In addition, SCORE's website has a wealth of information and links to help small businesses and entrepreneurs. SCORE also offers business counseling through the website. You can visit the website and click on "Email Counseling" A form will let you choose the couselor that is right for you.

Export/Import Workshop

Scheduled Dates:
Saturday, October 17, 2009. 8:45 am to 1:30 pm

A must for anyone considering going into or expanding an import or export business.

This workshop features experienced professionals covering the most essential topics in the field:

  • Export marketing and procedures
  • Successful Importing
  • Using the internet in international transactions
  • Setting up agreements with overseas relationships
  • Financing international transactions
  • Role of a freight forwarder and customs broker

The workshop allows ample time for questions. Participants are encouraged to register for free one-on-one counseling. A certificate of completion is presented at the end of the session.

The workshop is moderated by Hank Weiner, who has over 35 years experience in international trade. He has lived in Guam, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines and has worked in almost every market in Asia, Germany, England and Denmark. His experience includes developing and executing marketing plans for a wide range of consumer and industrial products, establishing joint ventures and locating foreign sources for American importers.
